DAVIS

  1. Philip Teitelbaum's taped recollections

Philip Teitelbaum's taped recollections (Summer 2007) Note: audio is ON Peter: Ok, the next person… um… Davis. Dave Davis. Philip: David Davis. He was more known as David Davis and he lived on Papineau, it’s Papineau Avenue. That was called Avenue. And he lived on the west side of Papineau street. Peter: Yeah. Philip: I remember his father that too me was really more like a grandfather because he was quite a lot older… And ah… Peter: Mother too? Philip: Mother too. Um, well David was very very quiet, studious boy, um… straight hair, um, walked quietly, slowly. That’s pretty well all I remember of him. Peter: Did he have brothers or sisters? Philip: I don’t think there was any other family members in there. (Note: One of David Davis' sons is Lou Davis, a friend here in Ottawa who I've been playing hockey with for years. He solved the riddle about why David's parents seemed quite old. He told me that there is a gap of over thirty years between children in that family. David's mother was not in her youth when David was born. This also explains why Philip doesn't remember David as having siblings.)
